DVD Review: Cherry Bomb

“Don’t light her fuse.”  That’s what they say about the new low-budget action flick, “Cherry Bomb.”

Julin Jean stars as a stripper who is attacked while performing in the VIP room of a sleazy gentlemen’s club.  They were no gentlemen, really.  When the men escape justice, Cherry is out for bloody revenge.

When a local businessman gets involved, a hit man called Bull is put into action.  And, things really go south for Cherry.

While “Cherry Bomb” has a handful of entertaining moments, it’s really not worth the attention of grindhouse fans.  The film was made for peanuts and it shows.

Grindhouse movies also need to be over the top.  That’s so we can laugh at how improbable all this sex and violence really is.  Instead, “Cherry Bomb” has no pop.  It’s a dud.  Grade: D-
